Funchal / Monte Cablecar

The lovely town of Funchal presents two different cable car services, that link different parts of this wonderful town, in order to better appreciate the astonishing beauty of this luxuriant island, in unforgettable journeys.

The Cable Car that links Funchal to Monte, on a journey of 15 minutes, has a total of 39 cabins of 7 seats each, and aims to recover one of the most traditional journeys in the town, previously made through the Monte railway.
Working since the year 2000, the Funchal station is situated in Campo Almirante Reis and the Monte station in Largo das Babosas.
It is worth knowing and enjoying the wonderful landscapes the Madeira Island presents, in between valleys, hills, picturesque construction, a luxuriant vegetation and the Madeira’s very own cosmopolitism, all seen from high above.
In the Monte station is also available a cafeteria and an handicraft shop.
